 Phra Srisanphet Buddha Statute (Chief Statute of Wat Mahathat Yuwaratrangsarit, Bangkok)

Phra Si Sanphet is a Buddha image from the Rattanakosin period, depicted in the Māravijaya posture (victory over Mara), seated in full cross-legged position (vajrāsana), with a lap width of 5.16 metres. The statue is made of brick and stucco, lacquered and gilded. It was held in the highest veneration by His Royal Highness Maha Sura Singhanat, the Vice King, during the reign of King Rama I. It is enshrined as the principal Buddha image in the Main Temple (ubosot) of Wat Mahathat Yuwaratrangsarit.

Berkeley House

Berkeley House at 14A Berkeley Gardens, BS31 2PN was purchased by the Thai Buddhist South West Trust and has served as the monks’ residence and a venue for small religious events since January 2022.

Alms Round outside the Temple

Monks from Wat Phra Srisanphet were invited to receive alms or Pindapat from lay supporters in the nearby towns.
